The MassChallenge mission
Launching a global startup competition to catalyze innovation and high-value job creation in Massachusetts and beyond
Our goal is to create a renaissance of startup activity via a global startup competition based in Massachusetts. Starting in Spring 2010, MassChallenge will attract thousands of new businesses and pair them systematically with the resources they need to launch and achieve rapid growth. Every entrant will receive access to training, mentors, executives, other team members and sources of funding. Experts from the Massachusetts ecosystem will identify the highest potential startups, which will receive cash prizes and will qualify for privileged access to funding sources from across Massachusetts and New England.
Anyone can enter, with any startup idea, from anywhere around the world -- startups do not need to originate or headquarter in Massachusetts.
MassChallenge is driven by the following principles:
- Catalyze innovation, collaboration and commercialization in Massachusetts and beyond
- Address the seed-stage investment gap, empowering young entrepreneurs
- Provide an immersive education for first-time entrepreneurs
- Showcase entrepreneurship assets and infrastructure locally and nationally
