#MCRoadTrip Day 1: Bringing Mass(ive)Challenge to CT

Mini the Mazda

Yesterday's launch of #MCRoadTrip began with an early-morning trip to Enterprise Rent-a-Car and. As most road trips begin, the MassChallenge 2012 Road Trip (#MCRoadTrip) began with an epiphany...

...our rental car wasn't large enough to fit all of our luggage (we've been known to over-pack).

We quickly scurried back to Enterprise where the friendly staff upgraded us to a larger car, which we've affectionately named Mini the Mazda.

The first stop along the four-day trek was at the University of Connecticut. We were able to connect with somereally great entrepreneurs - students, professors and community members - and get them excited about MassChallenge. A few of them actually went up to the front of the room and gave the crowd a 1-minute pitch of their startup! One of those pitches came from Maximilian Lekhtman from Share Logical Technologies.

A huge thank you goes out to Caitlin Taylor, VP of Communications at Alpha Kappa Psi Uconn, for helping us put together this session!

After wrapping up our first pit stop at UConn, we headed south to New Haven, CT for a stop at The Bourse New Haven to attract the local startup community and Yale students. Although no one decided to pitch their company, we had some great conversations and questions from the audience!

One of the most frequent (and important) questions we've been asked so far is  if we accept applications from around the world? Our answer: of course! MassChallenge has always stood for MASSIVE. MassChallenge has always been about the masses because we believe startups can contribute to communities all over the world.

Again, thank you to all of our amazing supporters, gracious hosts, and inquisitive attendees who helped get #MCRoadTrip off to a rockin start!
