Classifying and measuring chemical substances is fundamental to much of industry, food/water/air safety, and defense. Infrared (IR) spectroscopy is one of the most essential tools to measure "chemical fingerprints." Current IR tools rely on weak incandescent bulbs that severely limit accuracy, portability, and stand-off measurements. Eos is building IR engines based on arrays of Quantum Cascade Lasers that provide 100,000x more power on target than traditional sources in a compact package.
