In the world's poor rural areas schools and health clinics struggle to provide adequate service without electricity or hot water. Electrification of these institutions proceeds slowly with expensive grid extension, photovoltaic (PV) panels or diesel generators. STG has developed a better solution: a miniaturized solar thermal power plant using low cost solar collectors and a novel ORC engine that can provide clean electricity and hot water at a fraction of the cost of competing systems.
