Versantis is a pharmaceutical company developing an innovative drug capture platform to treat life-threatening intoxications. This liposomal system will lead to disruptive drugs in a broad range of indications of high unmet need. Built on a de-risked lead candidate with an orphan status (VS-01) , a lean development and regulatory path, and a qualified management team, Versantis will commercialize in 5 years the first drug to save patients with acute liver disease whose mortality rate is >50%.

Donor breast milk (DBM) is used to enhance the chances of survival and long-term health of sick and premature babies who have no access to maternal milk. There is currently a lack of equitable access to DBM across the UK. The HMB will also establish a first-of-its-kind research biobank to enable novel studies, collaborating with scientists across nutritional analysis, cancer research, microbiomics, and optimal donor milk usage. Surplus revenue will support local perinatal services.

Instead of reinventing the syringe, our device, LyoKit, couples a standard off-the-shelf syringe with an external pressurized water chamber, resulting in a simple one-step reconstitution process. As a result, the LyoKit differentiates itself from other competitions by being customizable to a full range of biologic products that require reconstitution. We also have the potential to provide a cost advantage of up to 60% to both the customer and pharmacy, while still generating 70% profit margins.

3Derm is a cost-effective skin imaging system that allows any user to take clinical-quality 3D images of concerning skin lesions and upload them instantly for review by a dermatologist. We implement our technology within accountable care organizations as a triage system, allowing primary care physicians to use our handheld imager in their clinics and send images via cloud to an in-network dermatologist for review - ensuring those with alarming conditions are seen as soon as possible.

UrSure Inc. aims to prevent HIV by driving adherence to the drug, PrEP. If taken daily, PrEP is 99% effective at preventing HIV infections in non-infected individuals. Nationwide, PrEP adherence is estimated between 20 and 50%, but UrSure Inc. has driven adherence to over 70% in its HIV prevention clinic in Philadelphia through its urine tests. UrSure’s urine tests are noninvasive and painless, cheaper, more accurate, and have a faster turnaround time than alternative PrEP tests.

Intento is a spin-off company of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, developing a solution for the rehabilitation of upper limbs of paralyzed stroke patients. Our solution fosters higher functional recovery than conventional therapy, helping stroke patients to re-learn lost movements, already after two weeks of usage. Our product is based on a novel patent-pending electrode technology and non-invasive functional electrical stimulation.
