At the end of retina surgery, a gas bubble is injected into the eye to tamponade (or affix) the retina in place. To keep the gas bubble (which floats) directed against the back of the eye, patients are required to lay face-down for 1 week or more and cannot see through the gas bubble nor fly until it dissipates. We are developing a optically clear, biodegradable polymer that will remove these lifestyle burdens from patients, as well as improve surgical outcomes and reduce reoperation rates.

It can function as a replacement for sutures topically, or as a suture or staple line reinforcement internally.

Our initial focus is applying our patented core technology to below knee amputees. Our lightweight device allows the same components to be fit to an 8 and an 18 year old and expand as needed to compensate for patient growth, while maintaining comfort. The device can be fit and adjusted with minimal training and equipment.
