Since 1957, SENA has invested in the social and technical development of Colombians by offering and implementing comprehensive professional training for the incorporation and development of citizens in activities that contribute to the countrys social, economic and technological development.
Over the past few years, there has been an undeniable surge in the need for startup resources in the Colombian ecosystem — made even more evident by the fact that the majority of applicants hailing from the Latin American region are from Colombia. SENA, identifying a dire need to provide 21st century resources to the Colombian people, reached out to MassChallenge to help modernize Fondo Emprender (the Entrepreneurship Fund) and curate the highest-impact ideas generated by the incredibly ambitious entrepreneurs in the Colombian ecosystem.
Global innovation in action! Our CEO, John Harthorne and Global Partnerships Director, Kara Shurmantine, catch up with Daniela Galindo, CEO of MassChallenge alum, Hablando con Julis.
After many years of conflict, Colombia is in the prime position to become a crucial player in the global innovation community and we aim to accelerate that process by sharing MassChallenge’s 6+ years of experiences in building networks and accelerating startups and providing them with all of the resources they need to succeed — an historic opportunity to fundamentally rebuild the social fabric of the region by inserting entrepreneurship into the very DNA of Colombian citizens.
Now empowered by our model for promoting innovation, we can’t wait to see what SENA does over the next few years to help startups win.
