A Visionary at the Intersection of AI, Biology, and Human-First Innovation
Anna Marie is the co-founder and CEO of a stealth AI company working on scientific robustness and transferability. She has seen first-hand the challenges in building platform technologies in the sciences and is working on solving the fundamental bottlenecks. At Ginkgo Bioworks (NYSE: DNA), Anna Marie was a transformative force. Her leadership spanned several functions, including acting as CFO and driving Ginkgo’s $1.6 billion public offering, the largest ever in biotech, and spearheaded a $300 million AI collaboration with Google to accelerate biological research using foundational AI models.
But her focus isn’t just on technology, it’s on people.
“Caring can be a superpower,” she says. “You may not be the only one who can solve the problem. But you might be the only one who cares enough to see it through.”
That philosophy fuels her work not just as a strategist but as a teacher. As an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School, she co-teaches a course on entrepreneurial failure, helping successful leaders become more resilient by confronting and learning from setbacks.
