Startup Story: Dilo en Ses

Meet Rocio and Gerardo, founders of Dilo en Ses#StartupStory

“Being an entrepreneur is not something that I wanted or planned, but somehow I managed to align my passion to help others thanks to Gerardo. With him, I discovered the world of Deafness; fascinating, but full of injustices and needs. I found it so exciting that it gave a twist to my life. I did not rest until I found a way in which I could help by seeking an innovative and automated solution with great impact, and at the same time, consider an equal participation with my deaf partner”.

We created “Dilo en ses”, an NGO that offers products and services to protect the Human Rights of Deaf people which improves their cognitive development and facilitate their inclusion.

Dilo en ses started like a Gaming App to learn Mexican Sign Language (LSM), designed especially for Deaf children, but that everyone could play. Through this, we want to improve the language development (improve language acquisition to avoid language deprivation) of Deaf children and improve communication between deaf people and the hearing population. The app includes Tutorials, Guides, Tours, Interviews, etc.

At the end, starting this venture came with a lot of challenges such as life balance, but it is worth it because I love what I’m doing to help other people’s lives.
