MassChallenge Launches Applications for Its 10th Boston Accelerator

BOSTON, JAN. 23 MassChallenge, a global network of zero-equity startup accelerators, today announced that applications for the 2019 Boston program are now open. Marking its tenth cycle, this year’s accelerator will support 100 high-impact startups across industries through access to top corporates, expert mentors, curated resources, dynamic office space, and more than $1M in cash prizes and scholarships – all at zero cost and for zero equity.

“Over the past ten years, MassChallenge has developed a proven model for helping the most promising startups from all backgrounds launch, grow, and succeed,” said Siobhan Dullea, MassChallenge Chief Operating Officer and interim MassChallenge Boston Managing Director. “We continue to be energized by the Boston community and look forward to continuing our collective effort to drive impact through this year’s cohort and beyond.”

As a leader in startup and corporate collaboration, MassChallenge will introduce new program tracks in 2019 to strengthen engagement in the Social Impact and Safety and Security spaces, where there has been an uptick in activity. With support from top partners, including BAE Systems, Draper, MITRE, the U.S. Department of Defense National Security Technology Accelerator (MD5), and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, entrepreneurs will have the unique opportunity to further accelerate their ventures alongside industry leaders.

“The opportunity to partner with a global entrepreneurial leader like MassChallenge is tremendous as we work to further enhance innovation for our national security,” said Morgan Plummer, Managing Director of MD5. “The inaugural year of this fellowship program in Boston will introduce small startups to the military ecosystem, allowing MD5 to meet the demands of our military customers while also evaluating opportunities for implementation throughout the United States.”

Startups interested in applying to the 2019 MassChallenge Boston accelerator can visit masschallenge.org/apply to get started on their application. The deadline to submit is February 13 (Early Bird) and March 13 (Final Deadline).

MassChallenge invites the community to its 2019 Applications Launch Event, which is being held tonight (January 23) from 6:00 - 8:00pm at MassChallenge.
