Facebook Accelerator: Connectivity is open to applications from startups across the Americas focused on improving availability and affordability of Internet access.

The 12-week program will be virtual and provide access to resources, industry experts, mentors, and potential investors.

August 3, 2020 (Mexico City) – Today, Facebook and MassChallenge Mexico announced the launch of a new program, Facebook Accelerator: Connectivity, for startups focused on connectivity solutions. The virtual 12-week program will run sprints based on agile methodology. Up to 30 startups will be selected to participate in rapid product development and growth and will be provided with access to resources, industry experts, mentors, and potential investors from Facebook and MassChallenge Mexico.

The goal of the program is to find startups in the Americas that are focused on improving connectivity through technologies, solutions, and new models that address the availability and affordability of internet access. Selected startups will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from Facebook Connectivity to help scale their impact and bring more people online to a faster internet.

“We see Facebook Accelerator: Connectivity as the perfect opportunity for startups across the continent to help reduce digital gaps, in order to provide better development opportunities to communities that really need it,” said Camila Lecaros, Managing Director of MassChallenge Mexico.

“Today, reliable internet access and innovative digital solutions are critical to adapting to new ways of living. By supporting developers focused on connectivity within the region, we can work together to help bring more people online to access critical information. We look forward to partnering with startups and finding areas in their business to strengthen global connectivity solutions that are key for their long-term success,” said Caroline Dalmolin, Developer and Startups Programs Lead at Facebook, Latam.

The call for applications begins on August 3 and will last for six weeks. The selection of participating startups will be made from a series of judging panels carried out by specialists from both organizations. The finalists will be announced in October and the program will start in November.
