MassChallenge HealthTech Launches Application for 2019 Program

September 10, 2018 BOSTON – MassChallenge, a global network of zero-equity startup accelerators, today opened applications for the 2019 cohort of MassChallenge HealthTech. Formerly PULSE@MassChallenge, MassChallenge HealthTech accelerates innovation in the healthcare industry by connecting later-stage startups with industry champions to address some of our greatest healthcare challenges. Industry-focused startups that have raised up to $10M in equity-based funding and have generated up to $10M in revenue are invited to apply by October 12, 2018 at 12:00PM (noon) ET.

“MassChallenge HealthTech’s startups are making significant impacts on the healthcare industry: in our first two programs, more than 60 startups participated in 180 partnerships, increased revenue and funding demonstrably, and impacted millions of patient lives,” said Nick Dougherty, Managing Director of MassChallenge HealthTech. “We look forward to welcoming a strong 2019 cohort that is ready to grow their businesses while solving some of the biggest challenges that face patients today.”

MassChallenge HealthTech sources applications globally from the world’s best digital health startups. Following a rigorous judging process, MassChallenge HealthTech matches the top startups with prominent strategic partners (“Champions”) to work on demonstration projects over the six-month program. During the program, Champions help facilitate key advisor introductions, pilots, research, and even investment opportunities to help startups grow their businesses. Startups also get access to scholarships, expert mentorship, tailored curriculum, and free office space in Boston – all at zero cost and for zero equity taken. At the end of the program, top startups will compete for more than $200,000 in equity-free prizes.

Launched as a strategic component of Massachusetts Digital Health Initiative and fueled by public-private partnerships, MassChallenge HealthTech’s 2019 program welcomes several new partners including First Republic, GlaxoSmithKline, and the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC). To celebrate the launch of the 2019 application, MassChallenge HealthTech invites the community to attend its event on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 5:00PM at the Microsoft NERD Center.
