MassChallenge Concludes the Fifth Annual FinTech Program, Bridging the Gap Between C-Suite Enterprise Organizations and Founders in the Financial Sector

(Boston, MA, June 1, 2023) – The MassChallenge FinTech Program proudly announces another successful year of accelerating startup success through lasting, relationship-driven connections. Since 2018, MassChallenge FinTech has accelerated numerous startups, poised to address pressing challenges within the financial sector through cutting-edge solutions and groundbreaking partnerships. By bridging the gap between startups and established enterprises, MassChallenge seeks to create pathways for disruptive financial solutions.

This year’s program commenced back in February and brought together a diverse group of visionary founders and forward-thinking executives from companies including, Columbia Threadneedle, IBM, KPMG, MassMutual, Putnam Investments, and StateStreet. Over the last four months, founders representing 40% BIPOC and 30% female/nonbinary worked together with challenge partners to foster innovation and unlock synergistic opportunities in the financial industry.

The 2023 FinTech program finale is hosted by Foley Hoag and will recognize the 20 startups from this year’s cohort. Entrepreneurs in this year’s program have solutions that address partner challenges in blockchain, Web3, ESG, compliance, and more.

“We are so excited to celebrate the conclusion of our 5th annual FinTech program! Collaboration between founders and enterprise corporations in FinTech is proving to be the throughline of innovation to scale and produce results that transform the financial sector,” said Victoria Melborne, Director of Challenge Program Operations at MassChallenge. “We have witnessed remarkable collaborations between founders and our partners! This program has empowered participants to push the boundaries of innovation and collectively tackle complex challenges across global financial ecosystems.”

“Visibility breeds serendipity. One of the reasons belonging to the MassChallenge FinTech community is so powerful is the broad and supportive set of people you meet, both sponsors and other startups,” said Kate Terry, MassChallenge FinTech ‘19 Alum, CEO and Co-founder Surround Insurance, and keynote speaker for the 2023 FinTech Finale. “And that allows new ideas and new connections to flourish.”

Looking ahead, MassChallenge remains committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth in the finance industry. This reinforces a dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for entrepreneurs and industry leaders to work in tandem, addressing the complex challenges that remain.
