[November 6, 2018] BOSTON – MassChallenge Israel, part of MassChallenge’s global network of zero-equity startup accelerators, tonight awarded 500,000 ILS in cash prizes to the five highest-impact startups from the 2018 Israel accelerator.
“Congratulations to the MassChallenge Israel 2018 prize winners. We are extremely proud of the MassChallenge Israel startups that are revolutionizing the health, education, and technology sectors,” said Yonit Serkin, Managing Director of MassChallenge Israel. “We are excited to be part of their journey, and eager to have the companies join our broader global alumni network.”
Held at the MassChallenge headquarters in Boston, the 2018 MassChallenge Israel Awards Celebration brought together investors, entrepreneurs and key partners across multiple industries. The Awards Celebration was held in partnership with Brandeis International Business School. “We are thrilled to once again partner with MassChallenge Israel as a part of our ongoing commitment to building bridges between the entrepreneurs at the heart of Startup Nation and Boston’s innovative and growing start-up ecosystem”, said Katy Graddy, Dean of Brandeis International Business School. “We know that world-class innovation from Israel thrives when it meets world-class talent for their workforce, like our students, and we take pride in investing in the next generation of leaders that can continue to grow this important relationship.”
The Award Celebration was part of the US Trek, a curated business trip and introduction to the innovation ecosystems in Boston and New York for the top 10 startups from the MassChallenge Israel program. During the week-long US Trek, the top startups will meet with investors, partners, business leaders and innovative companies including CyberArk, Via, and TripAdvisor, among others.
The Awards Celebration and the US Trek cap another successful year for MassChallenge Israel. The startups in the 2018 cohort came from all over the world – including Israel, India, the Ukraine, and Poland – and represent the top 7% of all global applicants. Over the course of the four-month program, startups in the MassChallenge Israel accelerator leveraged expert mentorship, tailored programming, corporate partnerships, and industry resources to accelerate their efforts.
The MassChallenge Israel prize winners join an elite community of MassChallenge startups. Since 2016, MassChallenge Israel has accelerated more than 150 companies from 10 countries, which have raised approximately $114 million.
