Renens, October 10, 2019 – MassChallenge Switzerland, part of MassChallenge’s global network of zero-equity startup accelerators, today announced the top 12 Finalists from the 2019 program. These startups will now will compete for the cash and in-kind prizes that will be awarded at the MassChallenge Switzerland Awards Ceremony on October 31, 2019 at the Swiss Tech Convention Center.
“In 2019 we had a record number of applicants for the MassChallenge Accelerator Program, and now after 4 months of acceleration I can confidently say we also had the strongest cohort ever”- said Matt Lashmar, Managing Director of MassChallenge Switzerland.
“It has been amazing to see the development journey of such a diverse group of startups. And MassChallenge Switzerland is happy to be the link that connects these amazing entrepreneurs to our corporate partners, and our fantastic group of expert mentors. Together we give the startups the resources they need to grow and launch their products, creating value for the founders, and hopefully adding a little bit of value back into society”.
Its most competitive program to date, the fourth annual MassChallenge Switzerland program accelerated 76 startups from 12 countries across four continents. Over the course of the four month accelerator program, these 76 early-stage startups benefited from unrivalled access to top corporate partners, world class mentoring from industry experts, tailored programming and curriculum. In addition, three entrepreneurs in residence played a crucial role in helping MassChallenge Switzerland startups capitalize on their strengths and navigating challenges, while making important introductions.
The top startups were selected following an in-person pitch, held last week at MassChallenge Switzerland’s Renens campus. Selected startups demonstrated their growth and impact to top corporate executives, industry, academia and innovation leaders from across Switzerland. The top startups will now move on to the final judging round that will determine the competition prize winners.
