MassChallenge Switzerland & UK Hubs Announce their 2026 Early-Stage Accelerator Finalists

June 3rd, 2026 (Renens, Switzerland and London, United Kingdom) – MassChallenge Switzerland and MassChallenge United Kingdom, part of the global MassChallenge network, proudly announce the 189 early-stage startups selected for their 2026 accelerator programme.

These startups will participate in the four-month accelerator and compete as finalists for the MassChallenge Awards, where the programme’s top startups will be recognized in October. While the two hubs have separate cohorts, they are part of one shared accelerator programme, with common content, a joint mentoring pool, and shared corporate partners.

This year’s cohorts represent the top 10% of global applicants, chosen after a second evaluation round, by nearly 425 independent experts from across the MassChallenge Switzerland & UK communities. This year 52% of experts assessing the startups were women. Each startup received tailored feedback from the judging process to strengthen their value proposition.

The selected startups span 47 countries across 5 continents and are united by a strong commitment to delivering impact (emissions removed, lives saved, safety & resilience, etc.). They represent a diverse range of industries and will participate in a 4-month programme structured into five industry-specific tracks.

This year we especially welcome 12 startups who are competing for the World Food Forum (WFF) Startup Innovation Awards (SIA), which elevates young entrepreneurs using technology to transform agrifood systems, end global hunger and advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

Since 2016, MassChallenge Switzerland has supported startups across Europe and beyond, with its 1,175 alumni raising over CHF 2.9 billion in funding to date and creating over 86,400 direct and indirect jobs. In 2026, MassChallenge UK will run  their 4th cohort, with 71 startups and an additional track for AI & Autonomy.

A Programme Designed for Growth

The 2026 accelerator combines in-person events (bootcamp, mid-programme, and finale) with an online curriculum of expert-led workshops and lectures. Startups will benefit from world-class mentorship, networking with corporates and investors, free co-working space, and tailored support.

Matt Lashmar, Managing Director, MassChallenge Switzerland:
“Congratulations to all the selected startups! You were chosen by our independent judges from the 1,961 that applied to the Swiss and UK programme. We look forward to welcoming you in person at bootcamp, so we, our corporate partners, our expert mentor and speakers, and our investment partners can help you grow your businesses, so that you can add value to society.”

David Kinsella, Managing Director, MassChallenge UK:
“In 2026 we will welcome 67 startups into the Uk cohort, a really significant group working on solutions to significant problems. We can’t wait to start working with these brilliant startups. The next four months will be intense but also full of opportunity.”

What’s Next

Experts can join our Mentor community by participating in mentor-matching events, where they’ll have the opportunity to connect with startups and support impactful projects. Read our last article about Mentoring and Join our events here.

The accelerator will culminate in two Awards Ceremonies at the end of October — in London and Lausanne — where top startups will be recognised and awarded. Up to CHF 1M (£943k) in zero-equity prizes will be distributed across the cohorts, along with several in-kind awards.

Stay connected by following the MassChallenge Switzerland and UK hubs on LinkedIn, and subscribing to our newsletter for the latest updates and opportunities.

MEET THE MASSCHALLENGE SWITZERLAND & UK FINALISTS 2026

World Food Forum Startup Innovation Awards (SIA)

BRIDGE MERCHANT ENTERPRISE (Nigeria) Bridge Merchant reduces post-harvest loss by connecting smallholder farmers to markets through a decentralized, tech-enabled network. By combining storage, logistics, and digital tools, it increases farmer income, creates rural jobs, and builds a more resilient food system.

Ceres FieldCheck (Germany) Why are farmers quitting when we still can’t feed 8 billion people? Across the world, 475 million smallholders are going bankrupt, their hands as eroded as the soil they work. The technology exists, but only the largest farms can afford it. So we built Luke: an affordable robot that autonomously inspects crop health and plucks weeds, burying them as eco-fertilizer instead of poisoning the land. Ceres FieldCheck exists to keep fields healthy and farmers happy.

CornHouse (Cameroon) CornHouse is a social enterprise that helps rural maize farmers in Cameroon reduce post-harvest losses, unlock affordable credit, and sell at better prices through safe storage, maize-backed collateral, and collective market access.

Entomo Farm (Zambia) Entomo Farm transforms organic waste into high-protein animal feed and organic fertilizer using black soldier fly farming. Our sustainable model tackles food insecurity, waste, and rising feed costs while creating jobs and empowering communities. Join us in driving a greener, more inclusive future.

ESGpec (Brazil) ESGpec is a digital platform enabling dairy farmers and agribusinesses to measure carbon footprint, monitor ESG performance and improve sustainability. Already used in 800+ farms, it supports climate-smart, data-driven food systems.

ESGSAT LLC (Singapore) ESGSAT is a “digital nervous system” for food processing. Using patent-pending IoT and AI, we detect spoilage 10x faster and cut energy waste by 60%. We help leaders like MC Sonae slash costs by $350k/year, saving the $936B lost to food waste while securing global food safety.

Kimeru (Colombia) KIMERU is a territorial infrastructure for agricultural intelligence: it organizes the scattered information of small-scale farmers via WhatsApp and transforms it into consolidated product catalogs. Farmers negotiate with greater power, and companies gain access to reliable and predictable supply.

Our unique fermentation techniques keep costs low enough for mass markets, impacting at scale.

Bearhug Pallet Wraps Pty Ltd (Australia) There are more pallets in the world than people. Any time one is moved, 50m of stretch wrap is wasted to secure it. Bearhug’s replacing this with a reusable alternative that can replace 350kg of plastic at one-tenth the cost of plastic over a 1000-reuse lifespan.  The key enablers of widespread adoption of our solution are: 1) automated wrapping machines, which we’re building in Stuttgart, and 2) pooled return systems, which we’re piloting with Coca-Cola.

BioZein industrialises zein, a plant-based corn protein that can replace hidden fossil-based ingredients used in coatings, binders, films and encapsulation systems across packaging, food, cosmetics, agriculture and beyond. By making zein affordable and scalable, we’re helping industries rediscover a natural material that existed long before plastics.

CaptuREE (Switzerland) Every second, 4,000kg of electronics become waste. Inside: rare earth elements, the backbone of every EV and wind turbine. Less than 1% are ever recovered. That’s $68B lost yearly, while Europe imports 98% of its REE from China. At CaptuREE, our bio-based technology plugs into existing recycling lines, recovering REE with 2000x better selectivity than the SOTA.

CHITELIX (Tunisia) CHITELIX transforms seafood waste into high-value biomaterials, primarily chitosan and its derivatives.
