Dirk Hondmann, Ph.D., is Chief Scientific Officer, with responsibility for the development of RB’s early stage product pipeline, exploratory research, the development of globally relevant nutritional science, and the creation of innovation partnerships with outside institutions and companies. Prior to assuming this position, Dr. Hondmann spent 13 years with Mead Johnson - a leading manufacturer of nutritional infant formula – where he was most recently the Senior Vice President, Global Research and Development.  Dr. Hondmann also had a 13-year tenure at Unilever, where he held a number of positions including Head of Development for Unilever Foods in South Africa and Head of the Lipton Innovation & Technology Center in California.Dr. Hondmann holds an adjunct research position at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and gives guest lectures on business and innovation.Born and raised in Maastricht, Netherlands, Dr. Hondmann earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry/molecular biology from Groningen University, Netherlands; an M.S. in molecular science from Agricultural University, Wageningen, Netherlands; and an MBA from Heerlen University, Netherlands. Most recently, he completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
