As vice president and general manager of FAST Labs, Dr. Wohletz heads the research and advanced technologies that underpin the products and services for BAE Systems Inc. FAST Labs’ research focuses on advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors & processing.

Of Dr. Wohletz’s 27 years of Aerospace and Defense experience, 18 years included profit and loss responsibilities running complex organizations responsible for delivering $0.5B in annual revenues and capturing large-scale defense programs (>$3B). Prior to BAE Systems, Dr. Wohletz was a Director at ALPHATECH Inc. (MIT startup acquired by BAE Systems in 2004) where he led and developed the market leading new-to-the-world Multi-vehicle Mission Control System (M2CS®) product for autonomous airborne systems. Prior to ALPHATECH, Dr. Wohletz was a research scientist at Air Force Research Lab and at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center during his graduate studies. He began his career as an aeronautics engineer with McDonnell Douglas working on the F/A-18E/F aircraft design.

Dr. Wohletz holds a BS with highest distinction in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas; and a MS in Engineering focused on Aeronautics and Astronauts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Estimation and Control, also from MIT. Dr. Wohletz has been recognized for his contributions to our Nation’s Defense, and was honored to be selected to serve on the United States Air Force Scientific Advisory Board.
