TicInsect aims to transform food waste into sustainable animal feed ingredients by rearing an insect called Black Soldier Fly.
Due to its high content of proteins and medium-chain fatty acids, Black Soldier Fly Meal is used as an ingredient for hypoallergenic pet food and in feeds for aquaculture and poultry farming. Processing waste is cascaded into bio-fertilizers. The business model directly addresses UN's SDGs 12 & 17, indirectly SDGs 14&15 by partially substituting soy & fishmeal.
Recycling organic waste by bioconversion into sustainable feeds & energy through Black Soldier Fly rearing.
